December 16th/09 is the day of the New Moon. This is a special moon cycle as it is the 13th of the year.

Two Gatherings will take place to explore and strengthen the feminine aspect: “Becomes Her Vision” as described in the book “The 13 Original Clan Mothers” by Jamie Sams.

I walked along the path of the woods, feeling rather strange today. As I walked, I was joined by a deer. We walked side by side for some time and I wondered why she was here. After a while I realized that she was the one — she was the deer that would honour us by giving her life so we would have meat for the table this winter. I gave thanks to her, apologized for being so selfish and taking her life so we could live and then I sent positive thoughts to Rick so that he’d have a sure, clear shot with his arrow. The deer hung back and then faded into the distance.
I continued on the path and noticed a squirrel that put a nut into the ground and knew that the nut would become a tree. I then noticed all the animals and how they would give back.
I continued down the path feeling as if this was the first time that I had walked this path, unsure of what was to happen. I entered the meadow, again as if it was the first time that I had been there and not knowing what to do. I did sit down by the fire because that is what I had done during other Vision Walks. I thought about the message of giving back and how I was to give back.
I then felt this .. something… a pain? a hole? a darkness? in my heart — perhaps it was the Void, now that I think about it……… and I was overwhelmed with the realization that my giving back was opening the doorway for others to find their Spirit Within, to find the balance of masculine and feminine energies, to find The Great Mystery. That was big. And then I saw that I wouldn’t do this through preaching or teaching but through example, by being. I saw my ceremonies at the Gatherings, not as an act of the Gathering but as a true connection with The Great Mystery. All my actions would be true to me and not just because of the Gatherings.
The magnitude of this awareness made that Void in my heart so huge that I couldn’t fully fathom it and then I cried. As I cried I found that a Clan Mother had appeared and she held me in her arms. I sat there for a long time, crying, taking in the message and feeling the Truth of it. I didn’t want to leave because I just didn’t have any energy left to move. The Clan Mother held my face in her hands and smiled knowingly. I gave her a gift of tobacco – a packet of tobacco for each of the Clan Mothers.
She guided me to the edge of the woods and with lots of effort I put one foot ahead of the other and started making my way back to Now. I noticed as I walked that I appeared to be wearing a long flowing robe and that my feet were bare.
As I neared the Now the clothing transformed back into my regular clothing.

The Vision Walk today was like a rebirth, a re-Knowing. I am me. I am Spirit. My honouring, giving thanks, ceremonies are becoming a part of who I am and this shall be my path, my giving back. From here on my ceremonies are less practices and more Truth. I don’t think I can put this Knowing into words but I can still feel the magnitude of this awareness and still have the urge to cry.

Walk the Talk: the message of the November Clan Mother

So easy to say but not so easy to do! The thoughts of negativity and judgment slip into my mind on occasion and even, sometimes, out my mouth! Once they have passed these lips their vibration effects the world in a negative way.

Awareness and commitment to walking the talk help me catch the thoughts before they transform into words and, so, they become less and less a part of my life.

How easy it is to pass the buck when it comes to responsibility. Currently the news is filled with people complaining about the process of getting the flu vaccine. They complain about the long line-ups and they complain that people, who are not on the priority list, are getting the vaccine.

We are the people. We are the ones who are lining up. We are the ones that are showing up even though we are not in the high risk category. We are the ones causing the problems. Why is it that we need the government to dictate how we should act?

We have passed the buck on our responsibilities. “It’s not my fault. They didn’t make a law stopping me from doing it.” That’s about how we are living our lives as a society. If we took responsibility for our own actions then we wouldn’t need to be controlled.

I used to think that some of our safety laws are good, valid, laws but now I see many of them as ways to make us act responsibly when we should be doing that ourselves. Our children should wear helmets when riding bikes. Does that need to be a law? We should keep our attention on driving and two hands on the wheel instead of on a cell phone. Does that need to be a law?

If we all thought about and TOOK RESPONSIBILITY FOR the ramifications of our actions, both now and for the next generations, BEFORE we acted, our world would be much different than it is now!

On the eve of the new moon, Mon. Nov. 16th, I will be hosting a Gathering to discuss and strengthen the feminine energy in each of us and in so doing change the world.

When you are feeling testy you are being tested!

Step back and refocus on your intentions, your choices, and your well-being!

The number of times that I have caught myself being a little snippy .. way too many… and it just didn’t feel right. Stepping back I usually found a bit of ego talking, forgetting that everyone walks their path in their own way and on their own timeline. The effect of listening to the ego was not only some not-so-nice interactions with others but also an ill-feeling within myself.
A little reflection and deep-breathing and the mind was cleared and the ego voice quieted… and, once again, I was back on track! And now, the occasions of testiness are few and far between. Thank goodness!

Sitting in The Cabin I closed my eyes and took a deep breath.

The Vision
I envisioned a path leading into the woods and I acknowledged the plants and animals within. At the end of the path I found a meadow and in the centre of the space was a fire.
I sat down at the fire’s edge and asked the Clan Mother, Talks With Relations, if she would join me. She appeared in a long flowing blue dress that resembled the night sky. Her hair was long and silvery white and her face was youthful with a joyous smile. At her side was a fawn.
I said that I had no questions but wanted to thank her for our conversation last January. She smiled a little impish grin, with a twinkle in her eye.
I then turned to the fawn and apologized for the life of the deer that we would take this hunting season. I said that it was our way of life at this time. We might change in the future but for now that is how we live. The fawn said, reassuringly, “I know”.
I then turned to Talks With Relations and asked her if she had any wisdoms for me and she said, “Be patient.” I thanked her and gave her a gift of cornmeal to share with the animals and she left in a swirl that resembled a vortex.
I got up from the fire and made my way back to the woods. At the path I noticed the footprints of the many animals who had been at the circle, watching from behind.
I returned to the edge of the forest and opened my eyes.
And I smiled.

“The 13 Original Clan Mothers”, by Jamie Sams is an excellent resource, a well-written book, an inspiration and wealth of wisdom. It speaks of the 13 aspects of the feminine energy that helps us live true to Self. When our feminine energy is in balance with our masculine energy we walk our path of Truth.

Some days that masculine energy is hard to tone down — the fears, the resentments, the retaliation thoughts, the need to win, etc. In those moments we need to sit quietly and listen to the voice within.

In those difficult moments how do you “fight” the urge to act from a place that is driven by the masculine energy, the “survival of the fittest” realm?

It’s fascinating to see and to be a part of this time of our evolution.
The power of uniting with others, the revitalization of Spirituality and the re-balancing of masculine and feminine energies have been growing steadily for decades and, now, we are reaching a level of well-being that is definitely changing the world.
“Thank you” to everyone who is living true to the Spirit within.
